Test Dummies Spotted on the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Ride at Universal Studios
Test dummies have been spotted on the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift ride vehicles, indicating that safety testing is underway. The ride, set to open next year, will be the first high-speed outdoor roller coaster at Universal Studios Hollywood, reaching speeds of 72MPH. It will feature four cars, including Dom's iconic Dodge Charger, and a dynamic track that utilizes the park's natural environment.
The ride vehicles, currently under camouflage, are expected to be wrapped in a black-and-white zebra print pattern, contrasting with the orange color seen in a previous glimpse inside the loading area. The coaster track, completed in the spring, includes a dramatic maneuver where it curves underneath and over the glass-roofed escalators, providing a breathtaking experience. The track also arches over the escalator plaza, leading down to the Lower Lot, and continues down the hill over service roads and the Tram Tour route.
Construction updates include the completion of an airbrushed mural on the queue building's side, fully revealing the entrance. The gift shop, officially opened last month, is currently without Fast & Furious merchandise, but it's expected to offer related products once the ride launches.
