Looking forward to seeing the new additions mesh with the returnees. While not as offensively skilled as Q, I think YKN and Nzeh fit nicely in Rhoades system

hopefully we have more consistent outside, shooting to replace the lost scoring from the center spot

The one not I had on Q was that he was a black hole once the ball was thrown into him. Hopefully centers are more capable at passing the ball out to the shooters. He also drove everyone nuts with his turnovers, bringing a ball back down to his knees.

Q had some production and skill, but his real value was on defense and the boards. Not too worried about replacing his offense. Both YKN and Nzeh are skilled, maybe in different ways, but skilled nonetheless and will help floor spacing. We’ll certainly have more overall size and depth which is such a contrast to our usual squad.

I don't know about that. He was the only guy we had that was a threat in half court offense. He was the guy you could go to when you need a bucket.

Wahab developed nicely last season, but the offense got bogged down when it tried to run through him in the post. It's too early to say that the offense will be "better" with Nzeh, Niederhauser and Goodman as the bigs, but it'll definitely be "different" to start. I think we're going to see some better ball movement.

They threw it into Q when we needed a bucket. He was pretty efficient down there too. Who else on that squad could consistently get a basket one-on-one?

Q could score when their was a breakdown on defense or whenever he was in position to get the ball near the hoop in 1v1 situations but the second teams realized he doesnt dish the ball they double teamed him and he became a liability on offense. Whenever we "needed" a bucket Ace was usually the guy to take control.

He was pretty efficient AND he bogged the offense down. Both things can be true. Replacing him isn’t gonna be as big of a deal as people think. Though it is definitely fair to wonder about our half court offense.

That is fair. To be clear, I am high on the potential of our incoming big men.

Think this is a pretty fair description. Q had a nice touch around the rim and if he had time to maneuver and get to his spot he was very efficient. He was good for a few buckets a game and while that was great I think we'll get similar output from the young guys and better floor spacing. Think we're all on the same page generally - we'll miss Q in some respects, but the new guys bring a different skill set that is hopefully a net positive.

Q was huge last year. Being able to dump the ball into the post and get a bucket is a big deal. When PSU was struggling on offense in getting buckets, run a simple iso play to Q in the post. When you don't have that it is much easier to play defense. Don't underestimate his value to the offense. And he was pretty good on defense as a rim protector.

Encouraging thing for this year is the improvement we saw from q as the season went on. Hopefully that'll play true to the bigs this year

Underrated statement…with so many new pieces coming in, we will have to rely on the returning players early but it was promising to see how the team improved through the year last year, so hoping the team gels and improves after the first ten games this year. Highlights the coaches can coach
